The Jump Start Option provides students with an opportunity to enroll in BSN courses from our RN-BSN curriculum Links to an external site. while also being enrolled in a California Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. The Jump Start Option only operates in the 10-week summer session through Extended and International Programs (EIP)’s Open University.
Participating in Jump Start does not make you an enrolled, current student at California State University, Fullerton. This will happen when you are ready to apply for the RN-BSN pathway.
Each summer session, the School of Nursing will offer:
- NURS 305: Professional Nursing (3 units)
- NURS 310: Nursing Research/Evidence Based Practice (3 units)

Applicants can decide to take a course either face-to-face or online.
Students who complete at least one course through Jump Start with a “C” or higher will receive priority admission to the RN-BSN pathway. As a reminder, you are still required to apply during the application period Links to an external site. and meet the admission requirements Links to an external site.. If you do not meet the requirements when applying, you will not be admitted into the RN-BSN pathway even if you have participated in our Jump Start Option.
